Mutual Recognition of OH&S General Construction Cards

Filed under: Uncategorized — apsAdmin @ 5:39 am

WorkCover has advised our office that as of 1st January 2007:

“Current Queensland blue cards and Victorian red cards will be deemed equivalent to WorkCover NSW construction induction certificates through an exemption order under the NSW Occupational Health and Safety Regulation 2001.

Construction workers with a current blue card or red card will not need to undertake general health and safety induction training for construction work in NSW and will not need to obtain a WorkCover NSW construction induction certificate.”

If your card was issued prior to March 2006 and was not updated, the mutual recognition legislation will not be applicable and you will be required to complete the OH & S Construction induction course again.
